List the open audit findings for non-finance managers
Practice: Saying who it's for. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're sending department heads a reminder about audit findings they still own. You want at most 3 bullets in plain text, each an open finding with the department and its due date, leaving out anything the status update marks resolved. Use only the audit report and status update, write for managers who aren't accountants (no terms like "segregation of duties"), and add nothing else.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Including resolved items. All five findings are in the report, and the AI may miss the status update. Try: Say: "Leave out findings the Nov 4 update marks resolved."
- Dropping due dates. The AI summarizes the issue but forgets the date managers need to act on. Try: Add: "Each bullet: department, finding, due date."
- Writing for auditors. The AI keeps terms like 'segregation of duties' that managers skip. Try: Say: "Plain words for managers who aren't accountants."
- Not capping the list. The AI lists everything it finds, so the few points that matter get buried. Try: Say: "at most 3 bullets."
- Getting markdown back. AI defaults to bold labels and headings, which show up as stray symbols in an email to department heads. Try: Ask for "plain text, no bold, no headings."
