Rule on lead-source credit when the rules conflict
- For Revenue operations
- You practice Keeping the AI to your sources
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Advanced
About this exercise
Apply the source-credit rules to opportunity OP-77 and rule on the dispute. Write exactly three plain-text lines: Ruling: (the source and credited team), Rule applied: (with the day count), Not applied: (the other rules and why each does not apply). Use only the rules and timeline. Under 90 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Crediting the outbound rep. The AI gives Jo credit because she emailed first. Try: Add: "An outbound touch earns credit only if the contact replied before any inbound touch."
- Crediting the partner. The AI gives Norland credit for submitting Sep 14. Try: Add: "A partner needs approval before the opportunity was created; use the approval date."
- No day count. The AI says 'within 180 days' without counting. Try: Add: "Rule applied: show the days from the touch to Oct 20."
- Wrong format. The AI writes a long memo. Try: Add: "Exactly three plain-text lines, under 90 words."
What a strong prompt includes
