Nudge a stalled signature with a real date only
- For Sales and customer success
- You practice Setting limits and rules
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Write a nudge email to Gareth Lund, whose e-signature is outstanding. Line 1 is "Subject:" with 7 words or fewer. Plain text, under 80 words. Offer a 10-minute call about section 7 (the payment terms his procurement team changed). You may mention Nov 20 only as the last date that keeps the Dec 1 kickoff. Do not mention that you can see he opened the document.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Revealing tracking. The AI says 'I saw you opened it three times'. Try: Add: "Do not mention that you can see he opened the document."
- Fake urgency. The AI invents 'prices go up Friday' or offers a discount. Try: Add: "Use only the real Nov 20 date tied to the Dec 1 kickoff; no discounts."
- No subject line. The AI starts with 'Hi Gareth' and no subject. Try: Add: "Line 1 is 'Subject:' with 7 words or fewer."
- Long email. The AI writes several paragraphs. Try: Add: "Plain text, under 80 words."
What a strong prompt includes
- Asks for a subject line
- Ties the date to kickoff
- Offers a call on section 7
- Hides tracking
