- You practice Showing an example of what you want
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Rewrite the five closed questions as open questions that cover the same topics, in the same order. Write exactly 5 numbered lines, each under 14 words. No question may begin with "Why", and none can be answered with yes or no. For the budget question, do not ask for a dollar figure.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Staying closed. The AI keeps 'Do you...' and 'Is the...' questions. Try: Add: "None can be answered yes or no; start with What, How, Who, When or Walk me through."
- Starting with Why. The AI uses 'Why' to probe, which can sound accusing. Try: Add: "No question may begin with Why."
- Asking for a number. The AI turns the budget question into 'What is your budget?'. Try: Add: "For budget, ask how purchases like this are funded; do not ask for a dollar figure."
- Wrong count or order. The AI adds extra questions or reorders them. Try: Add: "Exactly 5 numbered lines in the same order, each under 14 words."
