About this exercise
Place each of the five deals in Commit, Best Case or Pipeline using only the criteria. Write a markdown table with columns Deal, Category, Reason (starting with one tag: ALL MET, WRITTEN, LEGAL or DATE, the first Commit criterion the deal fails in that order, then 10 words or fewer), then a final line exactly like "Commit: $X. Best Case: $Y." using the amounts of the deals in each category. Check every criterion; a verbal yes is not written confirmation. Under 110 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Counting the verbal yes. The AI puts Cormorant in Commit because the buyer agreed. Try: Add: "A verbal yes is not written confirmation."
- Ignoring legal or date. The AI puts Dovetail and Elk in Commit on written approval alone. Try: Add: "Commit needs ALL three: written approval, legal started, close date by Dec 31."
- Wrong amounts line. The AI sums all deals or uses Pipeline in the line. Try: Add: "Final line exactly: Commit: $X. Best Case: $Y."
- Long reasons. The AI explains each deal in a paragraph. Try: Add: "Reason 12 words or fewer; under 110 words in total."
What a strong prompt includes
