About this exercise
Write an onboarding email from Rina to her new client Tom Becker. Plain text, under 100 words, no more than a one-sentence opening. Then exactly 4 bullets of what you need from him, each starting "- ", and one closing sentence that says the start date depends on the deposit being paid. Sign off Rina. Give dates only where the notes give them.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Asking for everything. The AI copies the old 6-item template and asks for tin dimensions. Try: Add: "Ask for exactly these 4 things; not tin dimensions or a brand guide."
- Inventing dates. The AI adds deadlines for the approver and invoice email. Try: Add: "Give dates only where the notes give them (Nov 16 for the files and images)."
- Missing deposit sentence. The AI says 'let me know when you're ready'. Try: Add: "End with: the start date depends on the deposit being paid."
- Wrong structure or length. The AI writes paragraphs with bold text. Try: Add: "One-sentence opening, exactly 4 '- ' bullets, plain text, under 100 words."
