Remind a buyer a quote expires without invented urgency
- For Sales and customer success
- You practice Setting limits and rules
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Write a quote-expiry reminder email to Andrea at Rowan Dental. Plain text under 80 words, subject line first. State the quote number, total and the exact expiry date, say what happens after expiry using only the notes (the price list changes Dec 1), and offer to extend the quote 7 days if she is still deciding. Do not use urgency words (last chance, hurry, act now, don't miss out).
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Urgency language. The AI says 'last chance to save'. Try: Add: "No urgency words; state dates plainly."
- Wrong expiry date. The AI computes 30 days from Nov 6. Try: Add: "Expiry is Nov 15 as in the quote record."
- Leaking internal info. The AI mentions the discount floor. Try: Add: "Don't mention the floor, competitors or other buyers."
- Long email. The AI writes a pushy long email. Try: Add: "Plain text under 80 words."
What a strong prompt includes
