Turn a deal win into a 45-second standup script

About this exercise

You closed Marlowe Logistics and your manager asked you to share it at Monday standup. Write a spoken script under 120 words that starts with "Quick win to share:", credits your SE Mia Torres by name for the sandbox, and ends with one ask for the team. Don't put any quotation marks or quoted words in the customer's mouth; your notes only paraphrase them. Plain text.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Inventing a quote. AI win stories add a punchy customer quote, but your notes only paraphrase Hannah. Try: Add: "No quotation marks. Don't quote the customer."
  • Forgetting who helped. The AI tells it as the rep's win and drops the SE. Try: Add: "Credit Mia Torres by name for the sandbox."
  • No ask. The story ends with "great teamwork!" instead of something the team should do. Try: Add: "End with one ask for the team."
  • A written report, not a script. The AI writes headings and stats instead of something you can say aloud. Try: Add: "A spoken script, plain text, starting with Quick win to share:"
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and runs long when you only give a total like 120 words. Try: Cap each part instead, like "6 sentences, each under 18 words," so the total lands well under 120.

What a strong prompt includes

  • Sets the opener
  • Credits the SE
  • Asks for a team ask
  • Bans invented quotes
  • Sets a size
