Compare retail spaces from listing pages, with monthly math
- For Small business owners
- You practice Keeping the AI to your sources
- Time about 5 minutes
About this exercise
You're looking for about 1,200 square feet for your plant shop and saved 3 listings. Write exactly 4 numbered lines: one per listing showing monthly cost as math (square feet x yearly rate / 12 + monthly fees = total), then Pick: with the cheapest one. When a listing was updated, use the newest version. Plain text, under 100 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Not saying which version wins. The AI uses Willow Row's first price, $24, from the older post. Try: Add: "Use the newest version of each listing."
- Missing a fee. The AI leaves out Harbor Plaza's tax share, making it look cheaper. Try: Add: "Include every monthly fee listed."
- Not showing the math. Yearly per-square-foot rates are easy to misread as monthly. Try: Show it: "1,200 x 22 / 12 + 150 = $2,350."
- Pick before the numbers. The AI leads with the corner unit because the listing sounds good. Try: Add: "Pick: goes last."
- Long or formatted output. AI adds an intro, bold labels and tips you didn't ask for. Try: Add: "Only the numbered lines, each under 20 words, plain text."
What a strong prompt includes
