About this exercise
You want to see each Period 3 student's total reading minutes per week from the shared reading log, leaving out the practice entries from the first day. Ask for the pivot plan as exactly 4 numbered lines labeled Rows:, Columns:, Values: and Filter:, naming the exact column on each line. Plain text, under 70 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Not saying what to add up. The AI counts entries, the same mistake as last time. Try: Add: "Values: sum of Minutes."
- Grouping by the wrong date. The AI groups by Timestamp, so late logs land in the wrong week. Try: Add: "Columns: the Week column, not Timestamp."
- Forgetting the filters. Other periods and practice entries sneak in. Try: Add: "Filter: Period 3, Entry type Log."
- Getting click-by-click steps. The AI writes a long how-to with bold menus. Try: Say: "Just the plan: exactly 4 lines. Plain text."
