About this exercise

You sell hand-poured candles and need a product photo for your marketplace listing, made with Gemini. The marketplace requires a pure white #FFFFFF background, a square 1:1 image and no props. Get Claude to write one paste-ready prompt under 130 words, plain text: a prompt paragraph followed by a last line that starts with "Negative prompt:" and lists at least 3 things to keep out. It must show the current jar exactly as it looks now.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Not checking which jar is current. The AI may describe the old amber jar with the cork lid, which the notes say is gone. Try: Add: "Show the current jar: frosted white glass, matte black lid."
  • Leaving out the marketplace rules. The AI goes for the moody shot with pinecones and a walnut table, which the marketplace will reject. Try: Add: "Pure white #FFFFFF background, square 1:1, no props."
  • No negative prompt. Image tools add props and random text unless you tell them what to leave out. Try: Add a last line: "Negative prompt: props, table, pinecones, extra text, logos."
  • Getting options and tips. The AI writes headings, three variations and photography advice. Try: Add: "Output only the prompt and the Negative prompt line, plain text."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. Product descriptions pile up unless you cap them. Try: Add: "Prompt paragraph about 50 words."
