Post a chore rotation your roommates can read in seconds
Practice: Asking for a format you can use. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're posting this month's chore rotation in your apartment group chat. Write exactly 4 numbered lines, one per roommate, each shaped 'Name: chore, when it's due', using the latest swaps from the chat. Add no other text before or after the list, and no emojis. Write a prompt that gets that post.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Not giving the shape. The AI writes a chatty message with paragraphs or a table instead of a list. Try: Show it: "Exactly 4 numbered lines like: 1. Kai: trash and recycling, Tuesday night."
- Using the first plan. The chat starts with the old plan. The AI may miss the swap that came later. Try: Say it: "Use the swaps: Ben has bathroom, Tasha has kitchen."
- Leaving out due dates. The AI lists who does what but forgets when, so the chaos continues. Try: Add: "Each line ends with when it's due. Tasha does kitchen Friday this week."
- Adding chatter and emojis. AI group-chat posts open with "Hey everyone! 🧹" and close with "Let's crush it!" Try: Add: "Only the 4 lines. No intro, no emojis."
What a strong prompt includes
- Sets the number of lines
- Uses the latest swaps
- Includes due dates
- Bans extras
- Asks for plain text
