Send a candidate a clear panel interview schedule
Practice: Asking for a format you can use. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
Email a candidate her panel interview schedule. The first line gives the date, start time and time zone. Then exactly 3 numbered lines, one per interviewer, each with time, name and role, using the latest panel. Then one line with the video link. Under 90 words, plain text. Write a prompt that gets that email.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Not setting the shape. The AI buries the schedule in paragraphs. Try: Show it: "Exactly 3 numbered lines like: 1. 10:00 am MT - Rosa Mendez, VP of Clinical Operations."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for "under 90 words" and it often lands well over. Try: Cap each part: "Each line under 14 words."
- Wrong time zone. The notes list Pacific times first. The AI may send those, which confuses the candidate. Try: Say it: "Give all times in Mountain Time, starting 10:00 am MT."
- Old panel. The AI may keep Dr. Hall, who was replaced. Try: Add: "Dr. Amy Cho takes the 10:30 slot."
- Missing the link or oversharing. The AI may forget the link or mention pay. Try: Add: "Include the video link. Nothing about salary. Plain text."
What a strong prompt includes
- Uses her time zone
- Sets the number of lines
- Uses the latest panel
- Includes the link
- Asks for plain text
