Send sellers a weekly showing update they can trust

Practice: Asking for a format you can use. About 5 minutes.

About this exercise

Your sellers want a weekly update on showings. Write exactly 3 numbered lines in this order: 1. what buyers said most often, with a count; 2. price feedback, with a count; 3. the next step you already agreed on. Plain text, under 80 words, and report only feedback from confirmed buyers, leaving out anything unconfirmed. Write a prompt that gets that update.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Letting the AI pick the shape. The AI writes a long narrative email with a recap of every showing. Try: Show it: "Exactly 3 numbered lines like: 1. Most common: dark kitchen (3 of 4 buyers)."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for "under 80 words" and it often lands well over. Try: Cap each part: "Each line under 20 words."
  • Counting a withdrawn buyer. The AI counts Sam's 'overpriced' comment even though those buyers dropped out. Try: Add: "Skip Sam Okoro's feedback; his buyers weren't qualified."
  • Passing on a rumor. The AI mentions the neighbor's 'offer coming' story, which can raise false hopes. Try: Add: "Leave out the unconfirmed offer rumor. Line 3 is the agreed next step."
  • Forgetting where it gets pasted. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as ** and # clutter in the sellers' email. Try: Add: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."

What a strong prompt includes

  • Sets the number of lines
  • Asks for counts
  • Drops the withdrawn buyer
  • Leaves out the rumor
  • Asks for plain text
