Check your sub plan for what a substitute would miss
Practice: Catching mistakes and made-up facts. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're out tomorrow and want your sub plan checked before you leave. Ask for a first line that reads 'Ready: Yes' or 'Ready: No', then exactly 3 numbered gaps a substitute would hit, each naming the period and what's missing, using your class notes. Plain text, no rewritten plan. Write a prompt that gets that check.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Asking "does this look ok?". The AI says it looks clear and adds general sub tips. Try: Show it: "Line 1: Ready: Yes or No. Then exactly 3 numbered gaps."
- Not checking against your notes. The AI can't know the drawer is locked or Period 2 is ahead unless you ask it to compare. Try: Add: "Check the plan against my class notes and name the period for each gap."
- Getting a rewritten plan. AI hands back a long new plan you don't have time to read. Try: Add: "No rewrite. Plain text."
What a strong prompt includes
- Asks for a verdict
- Sets the number of gaps
- Compares to your notes
- Bans a rewrite
- Asks for plain text
