Triage six auditor requests with three exact labels

About this exercise

You're triaging the auditors' document requests. Write a prompt for a markdown table with columns Request and Label, one row per request in the order listed. Label must be exactly Send now (in finance's files, final, no approval needed), Needs approval (we have it but someone must approve release) or Not available (finance does not have the final document), based on the folder notes. Under 80 words.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Sending the draft minutes. The AI marks the minutes Send now because a draft exists. Try: Say: "Not available = finance does not have the final document."
  • Releasing personal data. The AI sends the payroll register. Try: Add: "Anything with personal data needs approval."
  • Inventing labels. The AI writes Pending or Escalate. Try: Add: "Label must be exactly one of the three."
  • Skipping rows. The AI merges or reorders requests. Try: Add: "One row per request in the listed order."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and runs past word limits. Try: Ask for fewer words than the real cap and keep each part short.

What a strong prompt includes

  • Names the columns
  • Lists the three labels
  • Defines each label
  • Fixes the row order
  • Caps length
