About this exercise
You're sending the new travel expense policy to employees. Write a prompt that rewrites the paragraph in a warm, plain voice under 90 words, plain text. It must start with "Quick reminder:", keep all five limits exactly as written, add no new rules, and never mention discipline or consequences.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Dropping a limit. The AI trims details to sound friendlier. Try: Say: "Keep all five limits exactly as written."
- Keeping the threats. The AI keeps the non-compliance sentence. Try: Add: "Never mention discipline or consequences."
- Still stiff. The AI keeps the formal tone. Try: Add: "Warm, plain voice, short sentences, use 'you'."
- Markdown extras. The AI adds bold labels, headings and a closing note. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold. Output only the lines asked for."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and runs past word limits. Try: Ask for fewer words than the real cap and keep each part short.
