Plan the final two weeks before a champion leaves
- For Customer success managers
- You practice Giving the right context
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Write a plan of exactly 5 lines, each starting "- [ ]", then the date, the task and the owner in parentheses. Date order, soonest first, with the task that has no fixed date last as "TBD". Use only the tasks listed as needed. Plain text, nothing before or after.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Inventing a date for the welcome note. The AI guesses a date. Try: Say: "The task with no fixed date is last, marked TBD."
- Adding the gift. The AI includes the farewell gift. Try: Say: "Use only the tasks listed as needed."
- Wrong handover date. The AI picks Nov 20. Try: Say: "No later than one week before the last day: Nov 13."
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Leaving the bullet count open. The AI keeps adding bullets until every detail is covered. Try: Name the cap: "at most N bullets, nothing else".
- Leaving a requirement unstated. The AI follows its own defaults unless the prompt spells this out. Try: State it plainly in your prompt: the output has exactly 5 lines, each starting '- [ ]' with a date (or TBD), a task and an owner in parentheses, and nothing before or after.
What a strong prompt includes

- Date order and TBD
