Invite an executive to a QBR with a three-bullet agenda
- For Executives
- You practice Setting limits and rules
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Write the invite to Mr. Aldana, the customer's COO. Line 1 is "Subject:" with 8 words or fewer. One sentence with the date and time. Then exactly three bullets starting "-" for the agenda. One closing sentence. Plain text, under 85 words. Do not call it a sales meeting and do not mention renewal.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Listing the whole deck. The AI includes the feature tour and upsell. Try: Say: "Agenda is exactly these three items; leave out the rest."
- Missing the time details. The AI writes 'early December'. Try: Say: "State Wednesday Dec 2, 2:00 to 2:45 PM Central."
- Wrong bullets. The AI uses more than three bullets or numbering. Try: Say: "Exactly three bullets starting with a dash."
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
- Asks for plain text
- Sets a length limit
- Gives the date and time
- Limits the bullets
