Check go-live gates and give a go or no-go
- For Managers and team leads
- You practice Setting limits and rules
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Check the four go-live gates and write exactly five lines: four gate lines formatted "Gate: Pass - reason" or "Gate: Fail - reason" (reason 6 words or fewer), then "Go-live: Go" or "Go-live: No-go". Go requires all four gates to pass. Plain text, under 60 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Calling it Go. The CSM comment says call it Go. Try: Say: "Go only if all four gates pass."
- Passing Training at 74%. The AI rounds 74% up. Try: Say: "Training needs at least 80%."
- Wrong format. The AI writes a table or long reasons. Try: Show: Training: Fail - 74% under 80%.
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes

- Sets a length limit

- Shows the line format
