Send a kickoff recap with three numbered actions

  • For Customer success managers
  • You practice Asking for a format you can use
  • Time about 5 minutes
  • Level Beginner

About this exercise

Write the kickoff recap email. Line 1 is exactly "Subject: Kickoff recap and next steps". Line 2 is exactly "Hi team,". Then exactly 3 numbered actions formatted "1. Owner - action - date", agreed actions only. Last line exactly "Nia, Customer Success". Plain text, under 70 words.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Including the maybe. The notes list a possible SMS idea. Try: Say: "Agreed actions only."
  • Missing owners or dates. The AI writes actions as sentences. Try: Say: "Format: 1. Owner - action - date."
  • Wrong first or last lines. The AI writes its own subject and sign-off. Try: Give the three exact lines.
  • Leaving the list shape open. The AI picks its own number of items and its own layout. Try: Show the shape: "exactly N numbered lines like: 1. Label: detail".
  • Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".

What a strong prompt includes

  • Fixes the number of lines
  • Asks for plain text
  • Shows the action format
  • Limits to agreed
