About this exercise
Today is Friday Nov 6. Build a table with the header row exactly "Return | Business days | Over limit?" and five rows. Business days are the weekdays after the received date up to and including today. Over limit is Yes only if more than 5 business days. Plain text, table only, under 50 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Counting calendar days. The team lead counts 7 days for R3. Try: Say: "Weekdays only; the received day is not counted."
- Flagging R3 at exactly 5. The AI treats 5 as over the limit. Try: Say: "Over limit only if MORE than 5."
- Wrong table. The AI adds a notes column. Try: Give the exact header; table only.
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
