Script a 30-second QBR close
- For Customer success managers
- You practice Asking for a format you can use
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Write a spoken close for the QBR as exactly three lines starting "Recap:", "Commit:" and "Thanks:". Short sentences. Under 70 words, plain text. Commit lists exactly two commitments with dates. Do not mention renewal or pricing.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Bringing up the renewal. The notes include the Apr 30 renewal date. Try: Add: "No renewal or pricing talk."
- Adding the maybe. The AI includes the custom report as a third commitment. Try: Say: "Exactly two commitments with dates."
- Writing a summary email. The AI writes long paragraphs. Try: Name the three spoken labels.
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
