About this exercise
Write a renewal FAQ for customer admins with exactly 3 questions: When will I get the proposal? Who can sign? Can we change seats? Format each as "Q:" then "A:" on the next line, each answer under 24 words. Use only the current process. Plain text.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the old page. The outdated page says 30 days and automatic renewal. Try: Say: "Use only the current v3 process."
- Missing the signer rule. The AI says 'a manager can sign'. Try: Say: "The authorized signer on the original order form, or a written delegate."
- Wrong layout. The AI writes headings and bullet lists. Try: Show Q: then A: on the next line, three pairs.
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
- Asks for plain text
- Sets a length limit
- Shows Q and A layout
- Uses only the current process
