Write a weekly churn-signal checklist with thresholds
- For Customer success managers
- You practice Asking for a format you can use
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Write a weekly checklist for CSMs with exactly five lines starting "[ ]", one per churn signal in the notes, each formatted "[ ] Signal - how to check" and 14 words or fewer. Use the exact thresholds from the notes. Plain text.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the old thresholds. The retired playbook is in the notes. Try: Say: "Use the v3 thresholds only."
- Adding a sixth signal. The CSM comment adds NPS. Try: Say: "Exactly five lines."
- Missing how to check. The AI lists signals without the check. Try: Say: "Format: [ ] Signal - how to check."
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
- Asks for plain text
- Sets a length limit
- Shows the line format
- Uses v3 thresholds
