Summarize a chat into a ticket note without personal data
- For Customer support teams
- You practice Keeping the AI to your sources
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Summarize the chat as an internal ticket note with exactly four lines starting "Issue:", "Tried:", "Result:" and "Next:". Leave out greetings, the customer's phone number and the card digits. Plain text, under 70 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Including personal data. The transcript has a phone number and card digits. Try: Add: "Leave out the phone number and card digits."
- Missing the steps tried. The AI writes only the issue and the outcome. Try: Say: "Tried: both steps. Result: Chrome works."
- Free-form summary. The AI writes a narrative. Try: Name the four labels.
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
