File a help-center gap request with the right ticket count
- For Product managers
- You practice Asking for a format you can use
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Fill four lines starting "Question:", "Current article:", "What's missing:" and "Tickets:". Tickets lists the ticket numbers that ask this question and the count, like "3 (#1, #2, #3)". Do not count tickets about other topics. Plain text, under 70 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Counting every export ticket. The AI includes the empty-file and one-project tickets. Try: Say: "Only tickets about the date format."
- Vague gap. The AI says 'more detail needed'. Try: Say: "Name the missing setting and where it is."
- Wrong layout. The AI writes a paragraph. Try: Name the four field labels.
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
- Names the four fields
- Defines the count
- Gives the count format
- Asks for plain text
- Sets a length limit
