Fill a help-article template for account lockouts
- For Customer support teams
- You practice Asking for a format you can use
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Fill this exact template from the notes, one line per field: "Title:", "Applies to:", "Cause:", "Fix:", "Still locked?". The Fix field has at most 3 short steps separated by semicolons. Plain text, under 100 words, and use the 15-minute wait from the current policy.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Keeping the old 30 minutes. The AI copies the outdated macro. Try: Say: "The wait is 15 minutes now."
- Ignoring the template. The AI writes a normal article with headings. Try: List the five field names exactly.
- Forgetting the SSO exception. The AI skips the edge case buried in the notes. Try: Say: "Mention SSO accounts are different."
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
- Lists the five fields
- Limits the steps
- Uses the new wait
- Asks for plain text
- Sets a length limit
