Build a four-row plan comparison table from a price sheet
- For Small business owners
- You practice Asking for a format you can use
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Output a table with the header "Feature | Basic | Pro | Business" and exactly four rows: Price, Users, Storage, Support. Use only the current sheet. Plain text, under 70 words, nothing else.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the old sheet. The AI uses $10 or 2 GB. Try: Say: "Use the current sheet only."
- Adding extra rows. The AI adds API and SSO rows. Try: Say: "Exactly the four rows named."
- No table. The AI writes a list. Try: Give the exact header.
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
- Gives the header
- Names the four rows
- Uses the current sheet
- Asks for plain text
- Sets a length limit
