Assign six tickets to agents with language, tier and capacity rules
- For Operations and supply chain
- You practice Setting limits and rules
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Advanced
About this exercise
Process the tickets in order T1 to T6. Assign each ticket to the first agent in the list who speaks its language, handles its tier and has fewer than 2 tickets so far; otherwise "Unassigned". Output a table with the header "Ticket | Agent" and six rows. Plain text, under 40 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Exceeding capacity. The AI gives Ana a third ticket for T4 or T6. Try: Say: "No agent gets more than 2 tickets."
- Choosing the senior agent. The AI prefers Cai. Try: Say: "Use the first eligible agent in list order."
- Forcing an assignment. The AI assigns T6 to Dee. Try: Say: "If no one qualifies, write Unassigned."
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
- Gives the header
- States the first-eligible rule
- States the capacity rule
- Asks for plain text
- Sets a length limit
