About this exercise
An analyst wrote this finding and you need to pass it to Rosa, who owns a bakery and hates jargon. Rewrite it in exactly 3 sentences, plain text, under 65 words, with no terms like LTV, CAC, cohort or retention. Start with 'Rosa,' and state rates as 'out of 100' instead of using percent signs. Keep the numbers, say what Rosa should do first, and don't promise a result.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Keeping the jargon. The AI keeps LTV and CAC in brackets or just defines them. Try: Add: "Never use LTV, CAC, cohort, retention or benchmark."
- Losing the action. The AI explains the finding but never says what Rosa should do first. Try: Add: "Say what to do first: move about $400 a month to loyalty card sign-ups."
- Overpromising. The AI says loyalty will double her returns. Try: Add: "Say the sample is only 140 customers: a good sign, not a promise."
- Leaving the format to chance. The AI picks its own length and layout unless told the exact shape. Try: Add: "Plain text, no bold or headings. At most 3 sentences."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example "each line under 15 words."
What a strong prompt includes
