About this exercise
Three sources give different ARR figures. Use the most recently dated source as the reference. Build a table with the header Source | ARR ($M) | Date | Difference vs reference ($M) and one row per source, sorted by date, earliest first. Show differences with a sign. Add Check in the Difference cell when a source differs by more than 0.3. Then add the exact last line: Use for the board: $18.4M (Finance close, Nov 7). Plain text, under 100 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Choosing the biggest number. The AI treats the CRM as the reference. Try: Say: "Use the most recently dated source as the reference."
- Wrong check flag. The AI flags the deck too. Try: Say: "Check only when a source differs by more than 0.3."
- Wrong sort. The AI sorts by value. Try: Say: "Sort by date, earliest first."
- Missing exact last line. The AI adds a recommendation paragraph. Try: Say: "End with the exact line."
- Markdown. The AI bolds the Check. Try: Say: "Plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
