About this exercise

Build a table with the header Step | Owner | Due, sorted by date, with exactly five rows: Acknowledge, Draft, Legal review, Executive sign-off, Submit. Compute the dates from the letter date: acknowledge within 7 calendar days, submit within 30 calendar days. Internal rules: the draft is due 10 days before submission, Legal review finishes 3 days before, and the executive signs the day before. Use the owners in the notes. After the table add the exact line: Counsel confirms the deadlines and content before anything is sent. Plain text, under 110 words.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Date math slips. The AI miscounts the 30 days. Try: Say: "Compute from the letter date: +7 days and +30 days."
  • Assuming an extension. The AI adds time. Try: Say: "Do not assume an extension."
  • Mixing owners. The AI assigns the wrong owner. Try: Say: "Use the owner named for each step."
  • Wrong table. The AI adds steps or columns. Try: Say: "Exactly five rows with this header, sorted by date."
  • Markdown. The AI bolds dates. Try: Say: "Plain text."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
