About this exercise
Compare the four options and output one json code block and nothing else. The block is an object with "options" (an array of 4 objects with keys "name", "three_year_cost" as a plain number and "meets_sla" as true or false) and "recommendation" (the name of the lowest three-year cost among options that meet the SLA). Three-year cost = monthly price per user x users x 36 + one-time switching cost. Use the latest user count. At most 30 lines inside the block.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using 450 users. The AI uses the planned user count. Try: Say: "Use the latest user count, 400."
- Trusting the rep's promise. The AI marks Vendor B as meeting the SLA. Try: Say: "Judge the SLA on what is in writing."
- Picking the cheapest. The AI recommends Pico Help. Try: Say: "Recommend the lowest cost among options that meet the SLA."
- Extra text. The AI explains the math outside the block. Try: Say: "One json code block and nothing else."
- Too long. The AI adds extra keys. Try: Say: "Only the keys listed; at most 30 lines."
What a strong prompt includes
- Gives the key names
- Gives the formula
- Uses latest users
- Only SLA-passing options
- One code block only
