Write the interns' day-one agenda with the final times
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
Summer interns start Monday, and you're sending them the day-one agenda. Write exactly 4 numbered lines in the form 'time - what - where', in time order, plain text, under 60 words. Use the final times and rooms after the changes, and leave out the staff-only setup items.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Asking for 'an agenda'. The AI writes a formatted schedule with headings and welcome text. Try: Be exact: "Exactly 4 numbered lines 'time - what - where'. Plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each line instead: "each line under 12 words."
- Using the draft times. The draft comes first and the updates are below it. Try: Add: "Use the Jun 3 updates for every time and room."
- Including staff items. The AI includes setup and debrief because they're on the plan. Try: Add: "Leave out staff-only items."
What a strong prompt includes

- Sorts by time
- Shows the line shape
- Leaves out staff items
- Sets a word limit
