Post a PTA call for volunteers with the moved date
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're posting a call for volunteers in the PTA Facebook group. Write one opening line with the event and its new date, then exactly 3 numbered roles in the form "Role - time - how many needed", then one line with the sign-up link, under 70 words, plain text. Use only the roles still open. Write a prompt that gets you exactly that.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- No fixed shape. The AI writes a long post with every role, hashtags and emojis. Try: Be exact: "Opening line, exactly 3 numbered roles, then the link."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for "under 70 words" and it often lands well over. Try: Cap each part instead: "each role line under 12 words."
- Using the old date. Nov 13 appears first in the notes. Try: Add: "The fair moved to Tuesday Nov 18."
- Listing full roles or total slots. The AI lists wrap-up or says "need 4" for setup when only 1 more is needed. Try: Add: "Only open roles, with how many more are needed."
- Decorating the post. The AI adds hashtags, emojis and a paragraph about last year. Try: Add: "End with the link. No hashtags or emojis."
What a strong prompt includes
- Uses the new date
- Lists only open roles
- Shows the line shape
- Ends with the link
- Sets a word limit
