Write an open house caption with the corrected time
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're posting an Instagram caption for this weekend's open house. Keep it under 45 words, plain text, with exactly 3 hashtags at the very end. Use the corrected day and time, include the address, and make no claims the listing notes don't support (no "won't last", no school ratings, no "best"). Write a prompt that gets you exactly that.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for "under 45 words" and it often lands well over. Try: Cap each part instead: "3 short sentences under 10 words each, then the hashtags."
- Using the first time. Saturday 1-3 appears first in the chat, and the AI may use it. Try: Add: "The open house is Sunday 12-2 (moved from Saturday)."
- Hashtag overload. AI captions often end with 8-10 hashtags or scatter them through the text. Try: Add: "Exactly 3 hashtags, all at the end."
- Adding hype. The AI defaults to "won't last!" and "dream home" claims. Try: Add: "Only features from the listing. No 'best', 'won't last' or school claims."
- Ignoring where it will be pasted. AI loves bold and headings, which show up as stray ** and # symbols in Instagram. Try: Name the place and the format: "For Instagram. Plain text, no bold or headings."
