Send a seller this week's listing numbers, offers first
Practice: Saying who it's for. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
Your sellers get a weekly update text. Lead with whether there are any offers, then at most 3 bullets with this week's showings, online views and the most common buyer comment, under 55 words, plain text. Use only this week's numbers, and pass along buyer feedback without naming the buyers' agents. Write a prompt that gets you exactly that.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Writing a full report. The AI makes a table with every metric, both weeks, and commentary. Try: Be exact: "First line: offers. Then at most 3 bullets."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for "under 55 words" and it often lands well over. Try: Cap each part instead: "each bullet under 10 words."
- Burying the offer news. The AI leads with showings, and the sellers scan for the word offer. Try: Add: "First line: no offers this week."
- Mixing up the columns. With two weeks side by side, the AI quotes last week's bigger numbers. Try: Add: "Use only the Nov 3-9 column."
- Naming names. The AI quotes feedback with the agents' names attached. Try: Add: "Give the most common comment without naming any agents."
What a strong prompt includes
- Leads with offers
- Uses this week only
- Keeps agents anonymous
- Limits the bullets
- Sets a word limit
