Lay out annual plan milestones on dates that respect blackouts
- For Executives
- You practice Setting limits and rules
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Place the five milestones on dates in a markdown table with columns Milestone, Date, Owner, Why this date. Each date must be a weekday, avoid the blackout periods, respect dependencies (a milestone cannot come before the one it depends on) and be the earliest allowed. Why this date is under 12 words. Output only the table.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Missing a holiday. The AI counts Feb 16 as a working day. Try: Say: "Skip Feb 16 and the Mar 2-6 blackout."
- Dependency order. The AI puts the hiring plan before the budget. Try: Say: "No milestone before its dependency."
- Not weekday. The AI picks a weekend date. Try: Say: "Weekdays only."
- Wrong table. The AI invents columns. Try: Say: "Columns: Milestone, Date, Owner, Why this date."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each cell: "each cell under 12 words."
- Long reasons. The AI writes sentences. Try: Say: "Why under 12 words."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 12 words."
