- For Managers and team leads
- You practice Setting limits and rules
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Announce the new expense approval rule to your team in an email: plain text, subject line first, exactly 4 sentences in the body, under 90 words. Sentence 1 states the rule and the start date, sentence 2 gives the dollar thresholds, sentence 3 says what does not change, sentence 4 says where to ask. Use only the final policy.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Old thresholds. The AI uses $300 and Jan 6. Try: Say: "Final policy: $500 and Dec 2."
- Wrong sentence count. The AI writes a long email. Try: Say: "Exactly four sentences after the subject line."
- Mentioning the card. The AI includes the card idea. Try: Say: "Don't mention the corporate card."
- Markdown. The AI bolds amounts. Try: Say: "Plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each sentence: "each under 22 words."
