About this exercise

Create a blank contract request form for business teams, using the information Legal Ops says it always has to chase. Plain text, under 80 words. Use exactly these eight labels in order, each followed by [blank]: Requester:, Team:, Other party:, Contract type:, Estimated value:, Signature needed by:, Other party's paper?, Attachments:. The last line is exactly: Legal Ops reviews every request.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Extra fields added. The AI adds signing authority or pricing fields. Try: Say: "Exactly these eight labels and no others."
  • Labels reworded. The AI renames or reorders labels. Try: Say: "Use these labels exactly, in this order."
  • Instructions added. The AI adds a guide and a closing line of its own. Try: Say: "End with exactly: Legal Ops reviews every request."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
  • Markdown. The AI bolds words or adds headings. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
