Script a one-minute talk on how to ask Legal for help
- For Legal teams
- You practice Getting the tone right
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Write a spoken script for new-hire orientation, under 110 words, plain text with no bullets or headings. The first sentence is exactly: Quick note on working with Legal. The last sentence is exactly: That's the Legal Requests form. Cover the form, the 2 business day acknowledgment, how to mark something urgent, and who not to contact. Use the current process from the update, not the old one.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Old mailbox. The AI tells people to email legal@. Try: Say: "Use the October update; the old mailbox is closed."
- Bullet list. The AI writes a list, not a script. Try: Say: "Spoken sentences only, no bullets."
- Missing key facts. The AI skips the urgent date step. Try: Say: "Cover the form, 2 business days, Urgent plus a date, and who not to message."
- No fixed opener or closer. The AI writes its own intro and outro. Try: Say: "First sentence and last sentence exactly as given."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
- Markdown. The AI bolds words or adds headings. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
