Turn a visitor policy update into a friendly chat message
- For Legal teams
- You practice Getting the tone right
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Rewrite the policy update as a team-chat message from Legal Ops. Plain text, under 50 words. The first line is exactly: Heads up from Legal Ops: and the last line is exactly: Reply here with questions. In between, say what is changing, the date it starts (use the corrected date), and the one thing staff must do. Friendly and plain; do not mention consequences or discipline.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Old date. The AI uses December 1 from the draft. Try: Say: "Use the corrected date from Facilities."
- Consequences added. The AI repeats the disciplinary action line. Try: Say: "Do not mention consequences or discipline."
- Wrong opener or closer. The AI writes its own greeting and sign-off. Try: Say: "First and last lines exactly as given."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
- Markdown. The AI bolds words or adds headings. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
