Organize a child's antibiotic doses from the label
- For Parents and households
- You practice Keeping the AI to your sources
- Time about 5 minutes
About this exercise
Your daughter was prescribed a liquid antibiotic, and you want the doses on the fridge. Get exactly 3 numbered lines in plain text, under 70 words: 1. the dose and the two daily times; 2. the weekday and date of the last dose, using the pharmacist's change; 3. "Questions? Ask the pharmacist at 555-0128." Copy only what the label says, with no advice or side effects. Write a prompt that gets you exactly that.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Missing the sticker. The AI follows the label's 10 days. Try: Add: "Use the pharmacist's change: 7 days."
- No day math. The AI gives a date without showing how it counted. Try: Add: "Line 2: Nov 7 + 6 days = [date], evening dose."
- Adding advice. The AI adds side effects, food tips or comments about stopping early. Try: Add: "Copy only the label. No advice or side effects."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for "under 70 words" and it often lands well over. Try: Cap each part: "each line under 16 words."
- Leaving the format to the AI. The AI adds a title, bold labels and sub-bullets, which turns a quick note into a page. Try: Add: "Plain text, no bold, no headings, no intro."
