Post this week's top three team priorities
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You post your team's top 3 priorities every Monday. Write exactly 3 numbered lines in the form 'Priority - owner - done by', in the director's priority order, plain text, under 60 words. Use only items the director ranked, skip anything already done, and assign only people who are in this week.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Asking for 'weekly priorities'. The AI writes a long post with headings and every item. Try: Be exact: "Exactly 3 numbered lines 'Priority - owner - done by'. Plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each line instead: "each line under 14 words."
- Including finished work. Dock C is #2 on the director's list, so the AI keeps it. Try: Add: "Skip anything already done (Dock C)."
- Assigning someone who's out. The AI spreads work evenly, including to Sam. Try: Add: "Sam is out Mon-Wed; don't assign him."
What a strong prompt includes
