Write a club t-shirt pre-order post with the final deadline
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're the merch chair for the Hollins University Ultimate Frisbee Club, posting the t-shirt pre-order in the club group chat. Write it under 50 words: the price and the corrected order deadline in the first line, the sizes next, and end with the exact line "Order: hollinsultimate.com/shirts". Don't call it limited edition, and use plain text with no emojis.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Missing the deadline change. The old Friday deadline comes first in the notes. Try: Add: "Deadline is Wednesday, Feb 4, 11:59pm."
- Not saying what goes first. The AI opens with hype and buries the price and deadline. Try: Add: "First line: $18 and the Feb 4 deadline."
- Copying last year's hype. "Limited edition" is the AI's go-to merch line. Try: Add: "Don't say limited edition. No emojis."
- No set ending. The AI ends with "DM me!" instead of the link. Try: Add: "End with: Order: hollinsultimate.com/shirts"
- Trusting the AI to count words. Group chat posts come back at 90 words. Try: Cap it: "3 lines under 12 words each."
What a strong prompt includes
