List this week's club items with the cancelled one removed
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You write the weekly email for the Westbrook University Entrepreneurs Club. Write exactly 4 numbered lines in the shape Day, Date - Item - one detail, only for this week (Mon Mar 9 to Sun Mar 15), in date order, under 16 words each. Leave out the cancelled item and anything outside this week, and reply with only the plain-text list.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Listing the cancelled talk. The AI includes every row, even the cancellation. Try: Add: "Skip the cancelled Ana Ruiz talk."
- Including next week. Officer elections are in the notes, so the AI adds them, and order drifts. Try: Add: "Only Mar 9-15, in date order."
- Adding the dues reminder. The treasurer's note looks like news. Try: Add: "No dues reminder."
- No line shape. The AI writes paragraphs with bold event names. Try: Show it: "Tue, Mar 10 - Pitch practice - 7pm, Hale Hall 204."
What a strong prompt includes
- Limits to this week
- Drops the cancelled item
- Skips the dues note
- Sets the line shape
- Asks for only the list
