Turn a conference recap into LinkedIn carousel slides
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're turning your team's notes from the Midwest Retail Summit into a LinkedIn carousel. Write exactly 5 numbered slides: slide 1 is a title, slides 2-4 are one takeaway each with the speaker's name, and slide 5 invites people to your recap webinar on Jan 15. Keep each slide under 15 words. Use only the final attendance number and quote speakers only from the session notes. Plain text, only the slides.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Asking for "a carousel". The AI writes a caption plus design notes for each slide. Try: Set the shape: "Exactly 5 numbered slides, text only."
- Using the early number. Day 1's "3,000, record!" is the most exciting number, and comes first. Try: Add: "Attendance is the official 2,640. Never say record."
- Posting hallway gossip. The acquisition rumor is newsworthy, so the AI sneaks it in. Try: Add: "Skip the hallway notes."
- No slide jobs. The AI writes 5 takeaways and forgets the title and webinar invite. Try: Add: "Slide 1 title, 2-4 one takeaway with speaker, 5 the Jan 15 webinar."
What a strong prompt includes
- Says how many slides
- Says what each slide does
- Uses the official count
- Skips the rumor
- Sets a length
