Write an ebook's what's-inside bullets from the final contents
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're writing the "What's inside" section of the landing page for Tidemark's free ebook on email deliverability. Write at most 4 bullets, one per chapter in the final table of contents, each under 14 words. Skip the chapter that was cut, make no guarantee about inbox placement, and use plain text with no heading.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the draft contents. The draft lists 5 chapters, including the cut one. Try: Add: "Only the 4 final chapters. Skip the AI subject line chapter."
- Promising results. "Never land in spam again!" is the AI's favorite ebook hook. Try: Add: "No guarantees about inbox placement."
- Too many bullets. The AI writes 6+ bullets under a bold heading. Try: Add: "At most 4 bullets, plain text, no heading."
- Long bullets. Each bullet becomes a paragraph. Try: Add: "Each bullet under 12 words."
What a strong prompt includes
- Uses the final contents
- Rules out guarantees
- Limits the bullets
- Sets a length
- Asks for plain text
