Write gift guide blurbs for only the items in stock
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You own Willowmere Kitchen Shop and are writing the holiday gift guide email. Write exactly 4 numbered lines, one per item still in stock, each written as Item - $price - one reason it makes a good gift, under 18 words. Skip the sold-out item, use the sale prices from the update, and reply with only the plain-text list.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Including the sold-out item. All 5 items are listed in the notes, and the AI uses them all. Try: Add: "Skip the copper measuring cups, they're sold out."
- Using the old prices. The original prices come first in the notes. Try: Add: "Use the Dec 1 prices: skillet $42, apron $34."
- No line shape. The AI writes a paragraph per item with bold names. Try: Show it: "Item - $price - one reason, under 14 words."
- Getting extras. The AI adds an intro and a closing call to shop. Try: Add: "Exactly 4 numbered lines, nothing else."
What a strong prompt includes
